You can use this tool to delete files from your system (it's primary use) or to add files to your system (although it is better to add files using the editor tools to ensure files are placed in the right folder). To delete a file that is no longer needed, click on the folder where the file is located (left box), select the file and click on delete. NOTE: Never delete any file that is not in a folder or is from the folder titled "admin-modules." To add a file, you must place files in the right folder based on their type, as follows:
Video files MUST be in FLV format and audio files MUST be in MP3 format prior to uploading. Conversion tools are available in the Site Administration menu to convert files that are not in either of these formats. Once an audio/video file has been uploaded, there are three ways you can insert it on a page from the page editor: 1. For manual-start video files, place the curser where you want the file inserted, click on the film strip icon, click on the "video-audio-files" folder, click on the file you want to insert, and click on "Insert." A flash graphic will be inserted where your curser was placed -- which will require clicking on the play control for it to start. 2. For auto-start video/audio files, place the curser where you want the file inserted, click on AVR media (below the text area), click on the "Local Media" tab, select the file you want to insert from the Media drop-down list, click on "Insert." Some text code will be inserted where your curser was placed. When you save the page, the appropriate flash player for the file will display and the video/audio will auto-start. 3. For manual-start audio files, follow the directions in #2 and the add autostart="false" to the code like this: {mp3 autostart="false"}filename{/mp3}
-------------------------------------------- If you want to add a manual-start video/audio file that includes a thumbnail image, you must use the Video/Audio Gallery tool. Once you open this tool, click on the Help tab for instructions. You can also use the Video/Audio Gallery tool to upload video files that are not in FLV format (e.g., MPG, WMV, AVI, and SWF) However, uploading these other files types is not recommended. |
